Dan Farnham is the manager of a family owned business located in Montauk, NY which operates three offshore commercial fishing vessels with his captains and partners. He started his career in 1978 as a deckhand and eventually purchased his first vessel, the F/V Kimberly, in 1991. Dan has extensive knowledge of the offshore commercial fisheries in both the Mid-Atlantic and southern New England waters. His company vessels primarily target golden tilefish, squid, scup and silver hake and are home-ported in both Montauk NY and New Bedford MA.
Dan has served as a long-term advisor to both the MAFMC [Tilefish Advisory Panel] and the NEFMC [Small-Mesh Multispecies Advisory Panel]. He currently resides in Montauk, NY where he has lived for over 40 years.
