The South Atlantic Fishery Management Council is considering adding bullet mackerel and frigate mackerel to the Dolphin Wahoo FMP as ecosystem component species, acknowledging the role the two currently unmanaged species play as important prey for both dolphin and wahoo.
The South Atlantic Council has scheduled two public scoping meetings to gather public input on this issue:
