Description:

The International Summit provides an opportunity to bring to New England scientists and fishermen from other countries who are working together collaboratively to improve the information upon which sustainable harvest levels of commercial fish species are determined. The main goals of the summit are twofold:

  1. Provide an education opportunity for summit participants to learn about successful collaborative fisheries research efforts underway in other countries; and
  2. Begin a discussion on how such methods and approaches can be applied in the New England region, with particular focus on industry involvement in data collection, timely data incorporation and analysis, and adaptive/responsive management.
