Dogfish Information Webinar Scheduled for April 8

On Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at 7 p.m., the MAFMC will hold a brief public information webinar to gather additional fishery industry perspectives on the likely impacts of the alternative spiny dogfish trip limits under consideration in the 2014-2015 specifications package.

Council Hosts Climate Change and Fishery Science Workshop

Understanding climate change and the associated impacts on the ocean environment has emerged as one of the major challenges facing fishery science and management. Council and Board Adopt 2014 Recreational Measures for Summer Flounder, Scup, and Black Sea Bass

The Mid-Atlantic Fishery Management Council met jointly with the ASMFC's Summer Flounder, Scup, and Black Sea Bass Board last week to adopt 2014 recreational management measures for summer flounder, scup, and black sea bass.

Federal Funding Opportunity: Monkfish Research Set-Aside Program (January 6 deadline for application)

NOAA’s National Marine Fisheries Service, in cooperation with the Mid-Atlantic and New England fishery management councils, is seeking research proposals to utilize 500 Monkfish Days-at-Sea that have been set-aside through the 2014 Monkfish Research Set-Aside Program.
