NOAA Fisheries has developed a standardized program peer review process to evaluate each aspect of its science enterprise across the nation. Reviews will occur every year, at every science center, on a different aspect of the science program each year. In 2013, the focus is on collection, management, and quality of data used for stock assessments. In 2014, the focus is on stock assessment methods and issues such as uncertainty in results, use by managers, and explicit consideration of environmental factors. In subsequent years it will be on other aspects of our science. The 2013 reviews will be held on August 5-8 in Woods Hold, MA. Visit the NOAA Fisheries Program Review page on the Northeast Fisheries Science Center website for more information.
